The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, visited the construction site of the second ZF factory, and the first emission-free ZF production facility in Europe

PANČEVO, SERBIA ― ZF Friedrichshafen AG is expanding its e-Mobility division with new construction of the Power Electronics Production Center in Pančevo, which should employ 589 and invest at least 238 million euros.
Management of the ZF Serbia, Milan Grujić Managing Director and Stephan von Schuckmann Member of the Board of Management of the ZF Group along with the President of the Republic of Serbia Mr. Aleksandar Vučić, H.E. Ambassador of Germany to Serbia Anke Konrad, and other officials, attended the visit of the construction site.
“Today is a big day for us, it is a great success that we are brought ZF Friedrichshafen at first and now we are months away from the opening of the most digital and greenest ZF factory in Europe, here in Pancevo”, said president Vučić.
He noted that Serbia is ready to build the highway to Zrenjanin and the expressway to Vršac, which will bring great advantages to ZF itself and make Pančevo a new intersection of highways.
“New production facility in Pančevo represents a significant milestone in the development of ZF Serbia and it will be the first emission-free production facility in the ZF Electric Drive Systems Technology Division”, said Mr. Stephan von Schuckmann.
He also said that future mobility is electric, intelligent, connected, sustainable, safe, autonomic and affordable.
“With official announcement to start phase 2 construction, we announce one of the highest investment in Public-Private cooperation in Serbia, defining turning point of our Group - one of ZF’s first zero emission production facility”, Schuckmann emphasized.
"ZF is currently the most modern trend in the automotive industry”, Mr. Grujić added and highlighted the successful cooperation between Serbia and Germany.
ZF plans to produce systems for hybrid and electric vehicles in the facility it will build in Pančevo.
The work on the construction will be completed by the middle of 2023.
