The "Hisense" corporation has invested more than 47 million euros in a new plant for the production of state-of-the-art cooling devices in Valjevo, Serbia
Hisense representatives celebrated the inauguration of the third factory in this city with solemnity. The new factory, named "Valjevo 3", will produce cooling devices, primarily intended for export to demanding European markets.
The event was attended by the Prime Minister Ana Brnabić, representatives of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China, local authorities, Hisense company officials, as well as the representatives of the Development Agency of Serbia.
Work on the construction of the new plant, the construction of 18,000 m2 of production and warehouse space, was started in the middle of 2022. The construction pertaining to the production area has been finished, while the construction of the warehouse space is currently underway.
Production in the recently constructed facility commenced on April 1 of this year. The factory's intended production capacity is 750 thousand side-by-side devices per year. The collective output across all three Hisense Gorenje Valjevo plants is projected to reach 1.7 million devices annually by 2025.
Gorenje has been successfully operating in Valjevo for 16 years and provides more than 1,600 jobs to residents of Valjevo and the Kolubara district. The new investment anticipates the creation of an extra 1,200 job positions.
Since 2018, Gorenje has been part of the multinational corporation Hisense, one of the world's leading manufacturers of consumer electronics and household appliances, with more than 90,000 employees worldwide.
Hisense Europe, as the European part of the Hisense group, includes production facilities in Serbia, Slovenia and the Czech Republic, development centers in Sweden, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic and Slovenia, as well as 27 sales companies.
