With the ceremonial opening of the OCSiAl factory today, Stara Pazova is becoming one of the most innovative technological centers in Europe

Stara Pazova – October 29, 2024 – The Luxembourg-based company OCSiAl has opened a facility for the production of graphene nanotubes in the industrial zone of Stara Pazova. The facility in Serbia will be unique in its operations, while the OCSiAl's products will shape the future development of the automotive, aerospace, electronics, construction, and other industries.

The total OCSiAl investment value amounts 40 million euros, representing the largest Luxembourg investment in Serbia. The company currently employs 200 people in Serbia.

The opening ceremony was attended by OCSiAl Group CEO Konstantin Notman, Chairman of the Board Peter Kunio, Ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to Serbia Mark Hübsch, Serbian Prime Minister Miloš Vučević, Minister of Economy Adriana Mesarović, and the Mayor of Stara Pazova Đorđe Radinović.

The facility in Stara Pazova represents the center of the industrial hub for graphene nanotubes, with production lines for nanotube concentrates for various polymers, as well as nanotube dispersions to increase the energy density of batteries for electric vehicles.

During the opening ceremony, OCSiAl Group CEO Konstantin Notman stated that they are launching the most advanced factory and a new hub, contributing to the economic growth of Serbia and Stara Pazova.

"The products we manufacture here will be exported to over 50 countries, serving leading companies worldwide," he said.

Chairman of the Board Peter Kunio expressed his admiration for the success achieved through the teamwork of various individuals. He thanked the Serbian government and the municipality of Stara Pazova, noting that significant effort has been put into this sophisticated and complex field.

"We could not have done this without the people who participated with us every day. I am impressed by their work ethic," emphasized Peter Kunio.

Ambassador Mark Hübsch expressed his satisfaction as a newly appointed ambassador attending the ceremony and witnessing what he called the historic bilateral relations between Serbia and Luxembourg.

Prime Minister Vučević remarked that this is a significant achievement for Stara Pazova, which continues to attract an increasing number of capital investments each year.

"This is the best confirmation that Serbia is a good place for investments. The arrival of this company is an excellent invitation for others," Vučević stated, reminding that more than two-thirds of investments in the region end up in Serbia despite global challenges.

OCSiAl, headquartered in Luxembourg, serves over 1,500 customers and collaborates with more than 25 distributors and OEM manufacturers worldwide, including Europe, the USA, South Korea, China, Hong Kong, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Southeast Asia, Taiwan, Japan, and India.
